The annual gathering of the Mauritanian Community was held in the region of greater Cincinnati3/2/2018 The annual gathering for the activities of the community’s office (the Mauritanian association for friendship in the greater Cincinnati area) was held in Cincinnati, OH on the 17th of February 2018.
Participants have discussed the status of the community’s office, and other important issues that include safety and the development of the community. A professional immigration attorney was present, and provided a well detailed presentation that talked about immigration laws and other matters related to the application of these laws. The former president of the community started the conference with a speech that summarized the achievements of his office in the previous year. Other members of the previous office have spoken as well, and thanked the attendees for their supports and their efforts, and requested them for more in the future. Following that, all attendees were given an opportunity to discuss the presented issues, and other issues that they thought were important and should be addressed for the benefit of the community. The attendees have elected the following two offices (the executive office and the control office) Executive Office:

As a reminder, Cincinnati, OH and Northern Kentucky has a big Mauritanian community that consist of hundreds of individuals, and tens of families. The people of the community work in different economic sectors, and their community’s office in the greater Cincinnati area is considered one of the oldest Mauritanian communities’ offices that still exist in the United States. The office was established in 2004. Brief report about the celebration of the 57th anniversary of the Mauritanian Independence by the Mauritanian Friendship Association in Cincinnati The Executive Bureau of the Mauritanian Friendship Association of Greater Cincinnati organized a special event to commemorate the 57th anniversary of the Independence Day of Mauritania on Sunday December 10th at the Fairfield Inn & Suited by Marriott in Sharonville, Ohio. Many Mauritanians from all stripes of the community have participated In the event, and they were joyous and happy to do so as they were celebrating this very special and dear event, which shows that they are connected to the nation, and they love it, and ready to defend its independence and dignity. Some of the participants came from our community in Indiana. The party began by a speech by the President of the Association Mr. Moctar Jiddou who thanked all members for their participation and presence, he also added that the Association is a non governmental, non political organization, and should not be held liable for the past or future political problems and grievances in the County. Its goal, adds Mr Jiddou, revolves around national unity, social harmony, and reconciliation among all members of the community. After the president’s welcome word, the floor was open to all participants. There were many participants who expressed their views about different national matters, which does not reflect the views of the Association, even though the Association respects and values everyone’s view and ideas, but it asserts that it is not a political organization, and is not a part of any political discourse or organization. The party was entertained by two Mauritanian singers, and some Mauritanian and American dishes were served; which was met with excitement and approval by the participants. The Executive Bureau. Please contact: info@maurigc.org This Saturday November 28, 2015, the Mauritanian Friendship Association of Greater Cincinnati, MFAGC, commemorated the 55th anniversary of Mauritania’s Independence Day with a dinner in Florence, Kentucky. The event, which was held at the Florence Hilton hotel, was an opportunity for all Mauritanians living in the region to join together in observance of the birth of their common nation of origin. The crowd of men, women and children stood up in unison as the Mauritanian national anthem filled the air of the conference room, before the executive bureau of MFAGC delivered a welcome speech through its President Hady Anne. Imam Abdel Ghadr Ould Siyam then recited a prayer for all the Mauritanians who lost their lives on this day, followed by a dua’a sent in unison by the entire assembly.
