The annual gathering for the activities of the community’s office (the Mauritanian association for friendship in the greater Cincinnati area) was held in Cincinnati, OH on the 17th of February 2018.
Participants have discussed the status of the community’s office, and other important issues that include safety and the development of the community. A professional immigration attorney was present, and provided a well detailed presentation that talked about immigration laws and other matters related to the application of these laws.
The former president of the community started the conference with a speech that summarized the achievements of his office in the previous year. Other members of the previous office have spoken as well, and thanked the attendees for their supports and their efforts, and requested them for more in the future.
Following that, all attendees were given an opportunity to discuss the presented issues, and other issues that they thought were important and should be addressed for the benefit of the community.

As a reminder, Cincinnati, OH and Northern Kentucky has a big Mauritanian community that consist of hundreds of individuals, and tens of families. The people of the community work in different economic sectors, and their community’s office in the greater Cincinnati area is considered one of the oldest Mauritanian communities’ offices that still exist in the United States. The office was established in 2004.
